During the week beginning 19th February, the Year 11s competed in the South Ribble netball tournament.
On Thursday 22nd February, our Year 8 and 9 girls’ football team played in their first ever South Ribble cup game.
Our girls’ football teams have been very busy representing school in the South Ribble 5-a-side indoor tournaments at All Hallow's recently.
It was a pleasure to go and support a number of our students on Saturday morning, as they represented South Ribble at the Lancashire County Cross Country Championships.
Our Year 11 boys’ football team faced a local derby in the Lancashire Cup on Monday 5th February, taking on All Hallows in the last 16 of the County Cup.
On the 30th January our U13s basketball team attended the South Ribble tournament organised at Worden High School.

On Wednesday 24th January, 18 of our students competed in the South Ribble Schools Floor and Vault Gymnastics Championships at Worden Academy.
On Thursday 18th January, our U16s girls’ football team were in action in the quarter final of the Lancashire Cup against Bishop Rawstorne.
Congratulations to Sam C, in Year 11, who has been selected for the American Football U17 Great Britain squad.
After an impressive 3-0 win away at Bowland, we are delighted to say that our Year 7 girls’ football team made it through to the semi-finals of the Lancashire cup, on Thursday 11th January.
Well done to our U14s Basketball team, who travelled over to St Michaels in Chorley, to compete in the Lancashire Schools Cup.
We are very proud of Sam W, in Year 10, who was recently awarded the Sanderson Golf Trophy.
Our Year 7 girls' football team were in Lancashire cup action, on Thursday 7th December, in what were very difficult weather conditions!
On Saturday 18th November, almost 40 of our students turned out to represent Balshaw's at the South Ribble District Cross Country.
Our Year 8 boys’ football team played incredibly well in the Year 8 South Ribble A team tournament on Monday 4th December.
On Tuesday 28th November, our amazing staff took part in a charity football match after school.
Well done to our Year 8 boys' football team as they have progressed again into the next round of the Lancashire cup.
We are very proud of Honor, in Year 9, who has been very busy with her swim competitions recently.
Mia is an amazing gymnast and she took part in a competition in Leicester, on the 11th and 12th of November.
Our Year 7 boys’ football team were in action again on Monday 20th November, when they took part in the South Ribble 7-a-side competition.
On Thursday 16th of November, a group of our Year 7 girls and Year 8 girls took part in a PNE Tournament at Playfootball, Tag Lane.
Our Year 11 boys’ football team fought a very tough battle against Carr Hill High School in the Lancashire Schools Cup on Wednesday 15th November.
Our under 14 girls' football team played in the second round of the Lancashire Cup on Wednesday 15th November.
Our girls took part in a Year 10 and 11 girls’ 7-a-side tournament at Leyland St. Mary’s on Tuesday 14th November.
A huge well done to our Year 7 girls' 7-a-side football team. They played against Leyland St Mary's, on Wednesday 8th November, in their first tournament as a group.
Our Year 10/11 girls' football team participated in round one of the Lancashire cup away at St Bede's, in Ormskirk.
Our Year 8 boys' football team played in round 1 of the Lancashire Cup on Monday 9th October.
We are all incredibly proud of Nadia, in Year 7, who is the most amazing gymnast!
A huge well done to the Year 8 rounders team who persevered through an extremely wet evening, winning 4 out of 5 of their matches and coming 3rd overall in the South Ribble tournament.
On Saturday 10th June, Ethan C represented the South Ribble district at the 2023 Lancashire Schools Track & Field Championships at Stanley Park Arena, Blackpool.
We are extremely proud of OIlie S, in Year 7, who plays for the Cheshire County Cricket Team.
On Thursday 25th May we took a group of Year 7 and 8 students over to Emirates Old Trafford to watch a live Twenty Twenty cricket fixture.
Our Year 7 and 8 rugby team were in action on Wednesday 24th May against Holy Cross.
Congratulations to James B in Year 10, who as part of the U15 South Ribble District team, won the league this year.
On Thursday 18th May, 7 of our Year 7 boys along with 7 of our Year 7 girls, from the respective school football teams, took part in the Year 7 Rotary Cup Tournament at UCLan Sports Arena.
A huge well done to these 11 superstars who are South Ribble Tournament CHAMPIONS!
The Year 7 football team were in South Ribble Cup action on Tuesday 18th April.
Our Year 10 boys team have reached the final four in Lancashire after another nail biting extra time game.
In February, our Gymnastics team competed in the South Ribble Schools Floor and Vault Championships at Worden Academy.

Beth A, in Year 8, is a really is a dedicated swimming superstar and has taken part in three county swimming competitions already this year and won lots of medals!
An unbelievable performance from our Year 10 boys has put them through to the quarter finals of the Lancashire County Cup.

On Friday 24th June our U14s Athletics team travelled to Stanley Park to compete at the South Ribble Athletics competition.
A huge well done to the Year 8 rounders team who competed in the South Ribble tournament on Monday 27th June.
Congratulations to our Year 7 Rounders team for finishing in 3rd place finish in the South Ribble Tournament in June.
A very impressive performance by the following Year 9 girls, they were undefeated in all 5 of their matches and are now South Ribble Champions!
Josh R, in Year 10, and Sam W, in Year 8, played in the English Schools Golf Association competition on Monday 25th April at Dunscar, along with 55 other young people.
Unfortunately, our girls were beaten 7-2 by a very good Haslingden side in the Lancashire Cup Final.
A huge well done to one of our students that came 2nd place while racing at Haydock Park.
Congratulations and a huge well done to our Year 9 Sports Leaders who officiated the Year 5 & 6 Leyland Primary Schools' Football Tournament on Tuesday 17th May.
The Year 7 and 8 girls' football team took part in a 7-a-side competition, held by grassroots team, Euxton Girls.
Our Year 9’s played in the South Ribble Netball tournament in March at All Hallows.

Well done to the Year 7 and Year 8 Girls Indoor Athletics team who came 3rd and 4th respectively out of 9 schools at the recent South Ribble Schools' Indoor Athletics Championships.
On Thursday 10th March, nine of our under 13 girls took part in a 7-a-side competition.
More success for our Year 7 girls, who won their second match against Penwortham Girls High School team this week.
The under 13's 6-a-side football team took part in a Blackburn Rovers community trust football tournament on Monday 13th December.
The under 14s girls' football team have been in good form in the past two rounds of the Lancashire cup, in Round 1, beating Ormskirk 17-1, and then in Round 2 beating a good Bowland side, 7-4.

It's been another successful few weeks for our Year 9 football squad who have won two more important fixtures.
On Tuesday 9th November, our under 13 girls took part in a South Ribble 6-a-side tournament.
After their success in the second round of the English Schools cup last week, our Year 9 boys faced Bishop Rawstorne in the first round of the Lancashire County Cup, this week.
On Wednesday 6th October, our Year 9 boys' football team travelled over to Manchester Grammar School to play them in the second round of the English Schools Cup.
On Monday 19th April, the Lancashire Schools Golf Championships were held at Pleasington Golf Club. Over 50 golfers took part.
A huge well done to the super talented Year 7 netball team who won their first ever school match on Tuesday 21st January against Leyland St Mary's.
Our Year 7 team travelled over to Colne, in December, to play against Fishermoore High School.
Congratulations to the Year 7 boys' 7-a-side squad who have won the initial group stage of the Lancashire County Cup beating Worden and All Hallows.
