Learning All About Mussels!
In early December, Balshaw's were thrilled to receive two batches of free rope-grown mussels that were kindly donated by Offshore Shellfish. We were 1 of 200 schools to be chosen for this exciting venture! The reason for the donation was to enlighten our students about the nutritional value of fish/shellfish and to enhance their culinary skills.
Memorial Candlelight Service
On Monday 1st December, we held a multi-faith event in school, that celebrated the power of light as a universal symbol of hope and remembered those who are dear to us.
Careers Fair 2025
Balshaw's annual Careers Fair was held on Thursday 6th November, an event which students from Years 9-11 were invited to.
Cross Country Success
Congratulations to all of our Cross Country runners who took part in the recent South Ribble Cross Country Championships.
Cross-Country Event for Year 7, 8 & 9
On Saturday 15th November, a team of Year 7, 8 and 9 students, took part in a cross-country event at Hutton Grammar School.
Cross-Country Event for Year 10 & 11
On Friday 14th November, a team of 18 Year 10 and 11 students, went to Hutton Grammar School to take part in a cross-country event.
Remembrance 2025
On Tuesday 11th November, we observed a silence and held remembrance services.
Megan Secures a Place at Steven Gerrard Academy
We are thrilled to share that Megan, who left Balshaw’s in June 2025, is following her passion and has secured a place at the Steven Gerrard Academy, on their Sports Media course.
Leyland Remembrance Parade 2025
Some of our senior prefects took part in the Leyland Remembrance parade on Sunday 9th November.
