Superstar Finley, in Year 11, is amazingly dedicated to his chosen sport of BMX.

Finley continues to make his mark in this high paced sport. Read on for more exciting news about Finley’s recent progress, that has been shared by Mr Hough:

I just wanted to provide a final update on Finley’s progress in the last big competition of the 2025 calendar – the World Championships.

These were hosted in Copenhagen at the end of July, where Finley represented Team GB in the 16 Boys category.

He raced against 161 other boys from all over the world and we are super happy to say he made the final, and ultimately finished as the new World Number 7 – after crashing in a hotly contested final – we are thrilled that Finley has made the finals and has done so well in all the major competitions this year - we are super proud of him.

This brings his 2025 competition tally to;

  • World Number 7 - 16 Boys
  • European Number 2 - 16 Boys
  • UK National Series Champion - Junior Men
  • UK National Champion  - 15-16 Boys
  • British Number 2 - Junior Men
  • European Cup Series - Number 9 - 15-16 Boys – (Finley only competed in 3 out of the 6 weekend round over in Europe)

Thanks to you all and to the school for all your support towards Finley, for enabling him to race to his full potential, none of this would be possible if it were not for the support the school shows..…

A short break now – then back to winter training as we await the news of whether he has made the British Cycling - Olympic Development Team.

Good luck Finley! We are excited to hear about the outcome of the British Cycling – Olympic Development Team decision!

We thank Mr Hough for sharing this update, along with the photographs.
