As a school we do an amazing amount of fundraising and support for both local and national charities. Our students are keen to engage in many fundraising activities to help those less fortunate than themselves. We sell poppies in school on behalf of the Royal British Legion to support those who have given their lives for their country or been injured in action.
In the Autumn term we ask for food donations for our Harvest collection and the donations are given to the local food bank. Later in the term, collections begin for Christmas hampers that are shared with the elderly in the local community, either directly to the care home or via Regenerage. We have also had non-uniform days in school that help to raise money for a number of different charities that have included; Jeans for Genes, Save the Children. During our Lenten Charity fortnight students decide which charities they would like to support.
There are numerous cake sales with donations that have previously been made to Alzheimer's UK and Macmillan Cancer Support among others. Our Lenten Charity fortnight is a hugely successful 10 days of fundraising and this year there were several amazing events in school that helped us to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Previous Family Fun Day and Spring Fair monies raised were donated to St. Catherine’s Hospice along with a sponsored 5k cross-country fun run in school for students and money raised was shared between Cancer Research UK and St.Catherine’s Hospice.
Over the last year few years our amazing team of staff, students and their families have helped to raise over £20,000. We are so very grateful to everyone for all of their support as we couldn’t do it without you.
You can see a selection of our wonderful fundraising below.
