In January, a group of our Year 10 GCSE Spanish students, enjoyed a successful visit to Manchester Metropolitan University. The day gave them a valuable insight into what studying languages at university is like and how languages are used in the wider world.
Students took part in engaging taster sessions in new languages such as Arabic, Japanese, and Chinese. They also experienced university‑style Spanish lessons, which were a particular highlight. Their enthusiasm and willingness to get involved made the sessions thoroughly enjoyable.
Students also enjoyed exploring the campus and learning about university life. They were excellent representatives of the school throughout the visit.
The trip was a great success, and we hope it inspires many of them to continue their love of languages and to consider the exciting opportunities that studying them can bring.
We thank the staff from Manchester Metropolitan University for their support on the day.
