Fabulous news for our U15 and U13 girls cricket teams

A huge congratulations to the U15 girls cricket team who are South Ribble champions for the second year running!

The team consists of Lauren Hall (captain), Teri Williams, Hollie Green, Fran Trees, Isabelle Atkinson, Emily Atkinson, Kate Dutton, Rachl Procter and Ellie Probert.

The girls started strongly, beating Leyland St. Mary's comfortably. They then beat Penwortham Priory to secure their place in the semi finals. Following that they beat All Hallows to set up a final against Penwortham Girls High School.

Lauren and Rach opened the batting in style hitting 4s and 6s in the first couple of overs. They scored 99 runs in their innings and then it was Penwortham Girls High School turn to bat. They girls fielded amazingly well. Competition organiser Mark Cookson said "it was some of the best fielding and tactical awareness I've seen for a long time". Well done to all involved - bring on the next round of the competition!

Well done also to the U13s team, lots of whom haven't played much cricket before. They won their first two games against Penwortham Priory and Lostock Hall then lost to All Hallows and Penwortham Girls High School.

There was a tie for 2nd place with 3 schools on the same amount of points. Balshaw's finished in second place on runs scored!

Well done to all involved - Millie Bradshaw, Becca Pearson, Eva Hall, Lucy Morgan, Milly Campbell, Frankie Poulter, Georgia Eccles and Rebecca Ward.
